About this course
This module course explores the basic knowledge and skills needed to respond efficiently in emergencies related to neurological conditions and altered states of consciousness. It will focus on recognising various neurological issues, identifying signs of altered consciousness, and providing appropriate first aid measures.
Learning outcomes:
- understand workplace first aid procedures
- define the roles and responsibilities of first aiders
- recognise common neurological emergencies, such as strokes, seizures, and concussions, and understand their symptoms
- identify signs and indicators of altered states of consciousness, such as confusion, disorientation, or unconsciousness
- know how to perform a quick assessment to evaluate the severity of neurological conditions and altered consciousness in affected individuals
- demonstrate proper first aid techniques for supporting individuals experiencing neurological emergencies and altered states.
