About this course
This course includes both the Chain of Responsibility Introduction module and the Chain of Responsibility for Consignors module.
As part of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), people need to be aware of the role or roles they play in the Chain of Responsibility and be educated on their responsibilities as defined in the HVNL.
This course teaches the laws and principles of the Chain of Responsibility, the different roles which have been named as parties of the Chain of Responsibility, the five target areas that the laws have focused on to improve safety, and in-depth knowledge and understanding of the tasks and responsibilities consignees have within the Chain of Responsibility.
You will also learn why the Chain of Responsibility exists, why
off-road parties can be held accountable for offences that happen on the road, the skills to identify CoR breaches in a range of scenarios, both relating to their role directly and in broader situations, the control methods which should be in place relating to their role and how to apply and recognise the functions of the control methods.
